Why do I need to look after my extensions?
Remember the moment you removed your extensions from the packet? Remember the glass shine on them? Remember being IN LOVE with them?
Well, you still can feel that way up to 6 months later! They just need some TLC.
The main reason extensions require much more TLC then our own hair is down to one simple fact. The hair isn’t connected to your scalp. Your scalp produces oil lubricating our natural hair however extensions do not get any of our greasy goodness. We are responsible of replacing the lack of oil with our aftercare & product choices.

Shampoo & Conditioner
You must ensure to be using SULPHATE FREE products. This is usually a word that people do not understand so lets explain a little further.
That frothy, white lather that forms when you shampoo or use conditioner comes from sulfates contained in hair products. Sulfates are all primarily surfactants. A surfactant is a combination of molecules that attract both oil and water. One molecule clings to oil while the other clings to water, allowing the grease and dirt to release from you there and flow down the drain.
Of course we want our hair to be clean and oil free but when your extensions do not have a natural oil supply we don’t want to over clean them.
Using a sulphate shampoo would lead to dry, frizzy and discoloured extensions. It will also cause breakage on the hair.
